FA Magazine America’s Top RIA Methodology
FA Magazine’s annual list of America’s Top RIAs ranks independent registered investment firms based on year-end assets under management (AUM), as reported through the publication’s voluntary survey and reviewed against SEC Form ADV filings. Eligible firms must file their own ADV with the SEC, provide financial planning and related services to individual clients, and cannot be hybrid RIAs, corporate RIAs, or investment advisor representatives. Firms with at least $1 billion in AUM as of December 31, 2025, are included in the print ranking, while firms below $1 billion appear in the expanded online survey.
